Book is named to Charles R. Hackstock of the 322d Squadron, 91st Bomb Group. 2/Lt Hackstock (O-711998) was co-pilot of the B-17, Miss Slipstream (#43-38202). He was shot down during the mission to attack the oil refinery at Merseburg on Nov. 2nd 1944, captured and became a POW at camp Luft III 7a. Hackstock also served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was the 91st Bomb Group Memorial Association president in the early 1990s.
